WORDS FROM JEREMIAH CHAPTER 31 VERSE 8.
“I will bring them from the north, and gather them from the ends of the Earth. They will come back a great nation”.
These words from Jeremiah come from a time when the people of Israel had been scattered and is God’s promise that He will bring them back to their own country.
Here in Scotland, 2009 has been declared the “Year of Homecoming”. The word “homecoming” means many things to many people, but it is usually associated with returning after a long absence and this year people of Scottish descent are being encouraged to return to the land of their ancestors.
I am sure that we all experience that special feeling when we return home no matter how short or long the absence. Home is where we feel safe, comfortable and secure in the love of our family – a special place.
Prayer
Lord, we ask for a special blessing on our homes and families at this time.
Amen
